🚀 About Us

Toolkit is pioneering a completely new way to build software and pointing it at a massively overlooked and lucrative market - ERPs for manufacturers.

Companies spend $124B every year on 1980s & 90s incumbent ERPs. Toolkit's ERP compiler creates a custom ERP for every customer with near-zero marginal cost. Toolkit compiles a tailored ERP for each customer bootstrapped from their spreadsheets using our secret sauce - a high-level ERP language we developed.

We are a technical co-founding team, just raised our seed round from the best ERP investors, and are looking to hire gritty software engineers bullish on solving hard problems.

đŸŠŸ About this Role

You would be Toolkit’s first hire. You’d be joining an engineering-led company and be part of a lean team of ex- and future founders. You’ll be in the trenches with us, building full-stack. You should get excited about engineering novel solutions to well-understood problems for a non-technical user group (American manufacturers), and owning large features end-to-end.

đŸ«” About You

📈 Why bet your career on Toolkit

Elitism â€” we have a very high bar; you'll be on a small team of extremely talented, driven individuals that are either ex-founders or future founders, operating on a high-trust, high-agency basis. If we do our job right, we will create the next PayPal mafia in SF.

Influence â€” this work will make you a co-creator of the post-single-point SaaS era, establishing “compiled SaaS”, which will dominate the coming decade.

Fun â€” if you feel most comfortable when you’re uncomfortable and crave to up your learning and self-challenge to the 99th percentile, Toolkit is the best company to join.

Money & Ownership — we pay competitive salaries, which will be shared during the interview process. Compensation is a mix of performance-based bonuses, salary, benefits, and equity. When we succeed, you will own a meaningful amount of a huge business.

đŸ€“ Who you’ll be working with

Phil (Co-Founder and CEO) — Phil has worked at Bay Area manufacturing startups since he was 15. He graduated with an undergrad in EE and master’s in CS from Stanford, and experienced the ERP problem when working at Capella Space and Google X. He built River Lightning Services, which processes millions of payments, including El Salvador’s bitcoin lightning payments.

Michael (Co-Founder and CTO) — Michael is a repeat founder obsessed with ERP systems since he started coding 20 years ago (age 9). His first vc-backed startup (age 19) dynamically priced inventory worth more than $500m. At his last company, a $110m early-stage fund, he helped co-establish (age 26), he built the technical precursor to Toolkit.

🧭 About the Interview Process

Interview processes can be daunting, especially if there is no clarity on what companies are looking for. We want to see you at your best; we won’t try to trip you up. This is what you should expect from us:
